Cherry Clafoutis

During one of the eatwith dinner parties I hosted last year we met an Australian couple from Melbourne and we immediately hit it off. They invited us over for dinner at the apartment they were renting during their stay in Paris, and let me tell you, we were spoiled! I still remember the cured salmon we had as an entrée. The thing is, Nathan, is a chef so off course his food is beautiful and tasty.
We stayed in touch during the year and were very happy to learn they were coming back to Paris for almost three weeks! We invited them over to our house for dinner one evening so we could properly catch up and they could see our new home. We had the most fun evening!!

During summer time, back home we eat easy to prepare food that doesn’t require long hours in the kitchen. It’s hot. Real hot. Usually during the weekends, me and my brothers and sisters go to my mom’s house and we are spoiled madly; we get to eat delicious food and spend time together.
We are a family that has its habits; Saturdays at lunch there’s usually a big display of one or two quiches (we alternate in between, tomato & mozzarella, corn or zucchini), salads, milanesas, and a Spanish omelet. And Sundays its always has been and always will be a day dedicated to “Asado” or barbecue. Oh how I miss them. So very much.

Wow. As I sit and write this post it dawned on me that I hadn’t done this in a while. The truth is it’s been crazy crazy here for some time; I got married and I moved all in the same week. Needless to say that I lived in chaos for the better part of the last three months. At the beginning we were nor here or there; we were sleeping in one place but all our things were somewhere else, and then it became the box party.
For a while there getting a hold of my kitchen tools, or being able to photograph anything was really something I could only dream of. And off course we had some problems with the internet (welcome to France!), which made updating the blog impossible. Only just now I have functioning internet service, I actually know where my stuff and we got some of the furniture which made it possible to organize, put a little order and slowly emerge from chaos.
