Tomato & Mozzarella Quiche

During summer time, back home we eat easy to prepare food that doesn’t require long hours in the kitchen. It’s hot. Real hot. Usually during the weekends, me and my brothers and sisters go to my mom’s house and we are spoiled madly; we get to eat delicious food and spend time together.
We are a family that has its habits; Saturdays at lunch there’s usually a big display of one or two quiches (we alternate in between, tomato & mozzarella, corn or zucchini), salads, milanesas, and a Spanish omelet. And Sundays its always has been and always will be a day dedicated to “Asado” or barbecue. Oh how I miss them. So very much.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Wow. As I sit and write this post it dawned on me that I hadn’t done this in a while. The truth is it’s been crazy crazy here for some time; I got married and I moved all in the same week. Needless to say that I lived in chaos for the better part of the last three months. At the beginning we were nor here or there; we were sleeping in one place but all our things were somewhere else, and then it became the box party.
For a while there getting a hold of my kitchen tools, or being able to photograph anything was really something I could only dream of. And off course we had some problems with the internet (welcome to France!), which made updating the blog impossible. Only just now I have functioning internet service, I actually know where my stuff and we got some of the furniture which made it possible to organize, put a little order and slowly emerge from chaos.

Bread Pudding

Bread Pudding

A few weeks back I made Easter Cake, and I made too much… I kind of always tend to go in that direction. Exaggeration could be my middle name. At the time I didn’t know what to do with all that cake so I wrapped it in plastic -a lot of it- and stored it in the freezer.
Last week I decided to go through my freezer and organize it a bit; we are moving to new home soon so I have to use everything that’s in there before we do so. That’s when I came across the beautifully wrapped Easter cake. When I saw it I knew I had to make something of it, just wasn’t sure what exactly. So I put it back in the freezer and went about my day.
